The Backyard Ultra World Team Championship was in progress. The USA team was on lap 25: all 15 of them had completed lap 24 and run 100 miles, with day 2 under way. I got some miles in the bank between laps, and the fall colours were pretty out in Bell Buckle, Tennessee.
