Witnessing the incredible Big’s Backyard Ultra was nothing short of inspiring. With 75 runners from 34 countries, it was a global showcase of the world’s best athletes, united by a common goal: to transcend their limits and to be the last man standing.
Humbling and awe-inspiring, Big’s Backyard Ultra taught us that human potential knows no bounds. It’s more than a race; it’s a masterclass in resilience, determination and the strength of the human spirit. It reminds us that we are capable of far more than we can imagine.
Harvey Lewis won the Individual World Championship. He ran an astounding 108 laps, over 4 days and 12 hours, 450 miles (724.205 km), and set the world record. So proud of you, Harvey. Ihor Verys was the assist, with 107 laps over 4 days and 11 hours, 445.83 miles (716.518 km).
These exceptional athletes showed that age, speed, or the odds stacked against you can’t hold you back if you have the will to succeed. As Laz put it in his final update, the race “was won by not the fastest not strongest not the youngest… but by the one with the most sheer will to win.”
Congratulations to all the runners who toed the start line. You are legends.
