Day 6, off to a great start! The crank in my hand.
And then, this happened!
Considering myself very lucky. If this had happened last night, in the high desert in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception, it would have been terrible. Just 45 miles from Boise.
Danny, Nick, Tom, Tim and the crew at MCU Sports were my road angels who saved my day.
I have never had this happen before: the crank fell off the bike. I was crushed and thought my ride was over.
I called Maggie, who spoke to her friend Jasmen, who spoke to Leslie, who spoke to Danny at MCU Sports. Within a couple of hours, Nick and Tom, expert bike technicians, had fixed the crank and everything else that was causing issues. They set me up with extra bolts, just in case, and got me going by the end of the day.
I can continue with Freedom Seat USA thanks to Danny and his wonderful team. There have been reports of snow in the high country, so I’m changing the route through Idaho.
