I’m going on an adventure for the next four months with my friend Dan along New Zealand’s 3,000 km Te Araroa trail. Thank you to Bedrock Sandals, Gossamer Gear, Huckberry, NEMO Equipment and Yama Mountain Gear for the support.
Kiwi hospitality is insane. Carol gave Dan and me a ride from Auckland to Warkworth. She has traveled the world and was full of travel stories. It’s quite an adventure even getting to the start line at Cape Reinga to start our Te Araroa.
The night before we started, I wrote a walking song in my journal.
Even getting to the start line has become quite an adventure. Hitchhiking all the way to Cape Reinga from Auckland. Kiwis are so awesome. A lady stopped by and gave us hot muffins when she noticed us waiting for a ride. Got to Whangarei and pitched our tent for the night. Hoping for more good luck today!
