Unexpected kindness! That’s what the IPWR journey is full of. Kindness in the most unusual and unexpected places.
Just as I got to Exeter, I saw this gentleman sporting his epic Scottish kilt and having coffee. I complimented him, saying the kilt looked rad on him. He thanked me and asked me what I’d been up to. After explaining about IPWR and the cause I’m riding for, he asked me if I had had breakfast. I replied, “Yes, twice already,” with a big smile. He said that it wouldn’t hurt to have a third one and dragged me inside the cafe. I felt like a hobbit!! 😄
While having a yarn outside the cafe and sharing stories from the open road, Rod (dot watcher) tracked me down at the cafe and joined us.
We had an awesome time. I was looking around when I saw this sign at the cafe with a quote by Bob Kerrey:
“Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.”
That’s exactly what happened at the cafe. Unexpected kindness. I pointed that sign out to David and Rob and thanked them for showing me just that!! “Unexpected kindness”. Least expensive, yet the most powerful!
Planning on a sunrise finish. Friends, dot watchers, if you are around, I would love to meet you all at 6:22am (for Mike) at the Opera House!
I’m carrying an Oz map and would love for you all to sign it.
