Beautiful people, inside and out. While riding along the coastal road of the Gulf of Oman, I happened to come across this village.
Though we didn’t speak the language, the gentlemen, through sign language, offered me food and a place to sleep. The kids took turns to ride “Kindness”. Very genuine kindness and hospitality.
My humble abode for the night.
Seeing Facebook updates about friends in Christchurch marking themselves safe got me curious and that’s when I saw the news about the horrendous attack on the innocent people in a mosque in New Zealand. My heart was shattered. I’m one of the immigrants to New Zealand, and Kiwis welcomed me with their arms wide open and have treated me as family since day 1. The most welcoming and hospitable country in the world. My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their loved ones, and for a speedy recovery for the injured.
Just wanted to share a kindness story from the open road today from a lovely Muslim brother.
Due to the flat, I got stuck along the coastal road with no facilities around. I was planning on pitching a ⛺️ along the beach. That’s when I saw an elderly gentleman pulling over by the beach, and I asked him if I could pitch my tent along the shore. He instead opened the door to his tiny shelter house along the beach, and said I could rest there for the night as it was going to rain that night. He said I could lock the door and leave the key in a secret location.
He asked me if I needed any food, water, etc. I said I’m good. He was heading for his evening Namaz. He wished me well for my journey and took off. Seriously one of the nicest, kindest people I have encountered!
Restores your faith in humanity!
First flat in Oman 🇴🇲!
Looking at me fixing the flat, Mohammad pulled over to ask me if I’m ok and if I needed any help. He offered to drive me somewhere to get the tire fixed. He also offered to drive down and get me food and water. I said I had fixed it myself and thanked him for the offer. Genuinely kind people of Oman 🇴🇲
