Soon after I left Sirjan, I caught an amazing tailwind, and with rolling hills, I was cruising and rode 110 km in just under 3 hours.
It started raining real bad as I got into Shahrbabak. I asked a guy in a car stopped at a traffic light if there was any hotel around. Instead of just pointing in some direction, he asked me to follow him and drove at 20 kph to keep up with me. He took me to a hotel where the guard said that there were no more rooms, but he said I could sleep in his room.
Just as I entered his room, there was another family camping in the living room. Looks like the guard had helped another family in trouble. This family asked me to join them. Though they didn’t have much, they shared everything they had with a random stranger like me. We used Google Translate and passed around the phone to communicate.
It rained all night and the following morning. After having breakfast with them, their kids walked me to a local shop and helped me refill credits on my phone by talking to the shopkeeper.
They had packed my lunch by the time I arrived, and though it was raining, they all stepped out of the hotel room to wish me farewell.
“What kind of love is this?” Iran 🇮🇷 is just amazing.
