I was off to a rough start but still managed to finish strong. I took a nasty fall in slippery conditions and ended up with gnarly bruises. We started at 8 a.m. Pacific with friends flagging off the event.
It rained on and off all day. Some of the hills were steep and rough. Still, I finished Day 1 with 106 miles, in Portland, for an interview with KPTV.
