The Queenstown Classic, 300 km, and the Mountain Goat award.

Queenstown Classic 300km. Stage 1: complete.

Lake Dunstan, Cromwell. Stage 1: complete.

Stage 2: almost to Hawea, en route to Wanaka. The day couldn’t have been any better.

My first medal of 2016: the Mountain Goat of the Queenstown Classic, a 300km ride from Queenstown to Wanaka and back over the Crown Range, for a great cause. I have been called a mountain goat before, for running in mountain tracks in my sandals, but it was humbling to receive the award.

The Mountain Goat award.
